Lenoir County Inmate Search & Jail Records

Lenoir County inmate records are created when authorities process an arrestee into the W.E. "Billy" Smith Detention Center. These records contain the inmate's identifying information, charges, and, where applicable, basic details of related court hearings. The W.E. "Billy" Smith Detention Center houses both pretrial detainees and sentenced inmates and serves as the county's primary detention facility. The Sheriff's Office Detention Division operates the facility.

Persons who want to know who is in jail and why they are in custody can conduct a jail record search (also called an inmate search). The Sheriff's Office officially provides inmate information to the public in person or by phone call to the Detention Division Supervisor at (252) 559-6100 ext. 6195.
